4th INTERNATIONAL FAECAL SLUDGE MANAGEMENT CONFERENCE

The FSM4 Conference will be held in Chennai, India, in the State of Tamil Nadu, where the State Government has recently initiated measures to address Faecal Sludge Management.

Chennai General Information

India is the second most populated country in the world and has 23 officially recognised languages. Chennai, formerly known as Madras, is India’s fourth largest city and is regarded for its performing arts and temple architecture, both historical and modern. It is a cosmopolitan city with people belonging to different religious groups living together. Chennai is located on India’s southeastern coast and is marked by scenic, bustling beaches. Historically, the area was popular with seafarers, spice traders and cloth merchants. Today, it is known as the automobile capital of India, and one of South India’s tech, commercial and cultural capitals. Chennai is a mix of the old and newstately colonial structures are juxtaposed with modern high rises.
